Coleman's growing up!

Here are a few pics of Coleman this December. Isn't he growing up? Auntie Sarah sent him some clothes for Christmas--doesn't he look cute?

Napping with Papa :)

Excited for dinner!

SNOW!!!

We've been getting blasted with snowstorm after snowstorm--probably like the rest of you! We don't usually have this much snow at the end of December. I'm a little worried. . . Well, we were expecting another snowstorm last night so I told Todd I would shovel the snow for him in the morning if he woke me up. HAHAHA! It took me an HOUR to shovel out the driveway! Then I had to go out a few hours later and shovel out the WALL OF SNOW the snowplow shoved in my driveway! Whew!

Sorry Todd but I think I'm leaving the back deck for you!

ps Christmas pics coming soon!

A Pig Story by Deacon

Once upon a time there was a pig who lived on a farm. The pig was trying to sleep but some chickens kept dropping seeds on him so he ran far away and got lost in the dark spookily forest. He was nervous. He didn't see any light. Then he heard a sound and saw a little bit of light. Then he saw a lot of light. He saw food dropping out of the sky---monkey food. A monkey dropped food on the pig and the pig said "ouch!" The pig ran far away out of the dark spookily forest and rested under a tree. The End (As told to Mama last night while making dinner)

Gingerbread Cookies

The Boys and I decorated gingerbread cookies for family night last night. We had a lot of sticky fun! I was suprised that they stayed with it the whole time but I think the extra sweet frosting had something to do with it!

PS I'm sorry my blog background keeps changing. I'll apply a cute background and then a few weeks later it will disappear and I can't reload it--so I'll have to pick a new one. I haven't had this problem on my other blog so I'm not sure what's causing it. I really loved that last background too--snif, snif. If anyone has any tips please post them in my comments! Thanks!

So I set the boys to work today making fruit loop wreaths for the tree. This serves two purposes: 1) It gives the boys something new to do to get the creative juices flowing!!! 2) When they're done I've got something to use to fill in all the bare spots on my Christmas tree. (Actually Liston would say it has a 3rd purpose of feeding him an afternoon snack. He snarfed down about half the box of fruit loops!!)
Anyway, you'd think after almost 7 years of marriage I'd have accumulated a load of Christmas decor but alas my house is still a little sparse! But that's where all the fun comes in of making playdough ornaments and stringing popcorn. My decorations would probably make Martha Stewart cringe but I love em--and the little hands that made them :)

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum

Just a quick post before I head off to bed. We drove up Darby Canyon today and selected a gorgeous Christmas tree to adorn our home during the holidays! Here's the low down of our adventure in pictures:

Liston and I scouted out the perfect tree. . .

Todd chopped down the tree with his trusty saw and loaded it on the car with his manly muscles. . .

Coleman cheered us on from the warmeth of the car. . .

and Deacon slept!

Hulk

Grandpa sent some Hulk gloves for the boys to play with. Every morning when Deacon would wake up he would ask me to get his green hulk gloves out of the room Kyle and lise were sleeping in. He was to shy to go get them. But would keep hounding all morning until he got them. Both boys enjoyed putting them on and playing with uncle Kyle. Deacon couldn't be seperated from them the first couple of days. Here he is sleeping on them on the couch.

More Thanksgiving photos

We went for a drive into Teton canyon thinking we could go for a walk. Turns out there was a couple inches of snow on the ground there. Halfway down the road Callie told me she didn't thnk Kyle had 4wd. He didn't but luckily we didn't get stuck. Here are some pictures of us on a bridge in the canyon.

Thanksgiving

Callie, Lisa, Kyle and Cambri came to visit over thanksgiving. The boys enjoyed having company to play with. They especially liked using their hulk gloves on Kyle. We are thankful they came to visit and hope they had fun.

Coleman loves seeing the cats walk by. He gets extremely excited when they let him get close enough to grab

Coleman eating Jack

It is surprising how nice Jack is with Coleman. He let Coleman pull on him and smack him. He just layed there and took it.

Jack is huge so he didn't stay close for long.

Coleman

I couldn't resist posting this handsome guy

New Bed

Not much happening this week. We finally decided Liston could handle the top bunk. We took his old bed apart and moved the bunk bed into his room for him and Deacon. The first night Deacon was afraid to go up the ladder so he didn't go up. The next morning I heard them both up at 5am and they were both on the top bunk. Liston taught him how to get up and down by himself. Liston went to the doctor today for his year check up. All is well he weighed 38 lbs and is 41 inches.

Happy Halloween!

Well Halloween has come and gone! I can't believe how fast autumn is turning into winter. The boys had a ton of fun begging for treats!(except for Coleman who has been sick all weekend) I took them to Halloween on Main to go trick-or-treating to all the businesses. Our first stop was the Post Office and as soon as we walked in the door the boys stopped dead in their tracks! Both postal clerks were decked out in costume complete with scary face paint. Liston hid behind my back while Deacon just kind of stood there speechless. Finally after a few minutes of talking we managed to convince the boys that the scary monsters in front of them were really Christy and Gary. :)
Liston dressed up as a Ninja, a costume he has had for about a year waiting for him in his closet. Deacon went as a dog picked out from a bag of costumes we have from his cousins. Everyone thought he looked really cute in it. One guy even called him back and told him to pick out some more candy because he was so cute. Coleman was a sick little skeleton.
After dinner we went to the church for the trunk or treat. Then just went around the block once. I was surprised that Deacon didn't want to go all night. But they seemed to really like handing out candy to the few that came buy. And in true boy spirit they have already been caught in the pantry with the door closed eating their halloween candy.

Fun In The Autumn Sun

Todd took us to Cave Falls today. We haven't been to the falls since last summer. Liston was not excited to go at all. He said he didn't want to go on any adventures and he just wanted to stay home. But when it was all said and done I think the boys had fun. And I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful scenery. It was a little chilly but it was nice to get out before the snow starts to stick.
